City workers found three-month old Gem on a conveyer belt at the Recology transfer station on December 27. They noticed her squirming inside a bag and stopped the conveyer before she was sent to a landfill.
Gem had significant injuries to her neck and legs.
Over the past month, she's healed and is looking for a home.
Animal control said at least 250 people have applied to adopt her.
