The complaint accuses the company of violating state laws by relying on legally invalid consent from minors ages 13 to 17 and by revealing children's locations and personal information to strangers.
In the complaint, Herrera said the site served as a portal for numerous assaults and illicit sex acts with minors.
MeetMe says it is reviewing the claims, saying "we review hundreds of thousands of photos posted to our services every day and we compare the information proved by our users to a sex-offender registry."
