Palo Alto police seek purse-snatching suspect

PALO ALTO, Calif.

Police say he attacked twice last Wednesday evening in the downtown area. First, he grabbed the purse of a woman dining outdoors on Unversity Avenue.

Then, 15 minutes later he attempted to snatch the purse of a woman at a bus stop at Quarry and Palo Roads.

Witnesses say the suspect is a male in his late teens or early twenties, about 6-feet tall, with a thin build. They said he was clean-shaven. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans and may have been wearing a white hat.

The suspect's bicycle was dark in color, and may have had whitewall tires.

No one has been injured.
