The waitresses say it was a slow morning at the Boone County Family Restaurant in Rockford, Illinois. They were folding napkins and silverware, chatting about student loans and bills that were piling up when a woman got up and handed them each a check.
At first, one waitress thought the check was for $500 and told the woman she couldn't keep it. When they realized each of the checks was for $5,000, one of the women says she nearly passed out.
