Girl Scout chapter raises cookie price $1 per box

The San Francisco Business Times reports that the Northern California Chapter of Girl Scouts, which covers the entire Bay Area, will raise the price of a box of cookies by $1, making it $5 a box.

It's the only chapter to hike the price.

Chapter officials say the cost of business has gone up, including bakers' fees and facility expenses.

The price jump marks the first time in five years that the Girl Scouts has raised the cost of its cookies.
