Speculation is growing this morning over whether a Silicon Valley tech titan will try to unseat Senator Barbara Boxer in 2016.

Facebook tells ABC7 News that a source close to Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg says reports that she plans to challenge long-time Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer in a primary are 100 percent untrue.

The British Tabloid, The Daily Mail, reported that Sandberg plans to run. The idea is not new. Many have speculated Sandberg would quit Facebook for politics.

She started her career in the Treasury Department during the Clinton administration.
