Lockdown lifted at Monterey Peninsula College

MONTEREY, Calif.

According to a Facebook post by the school, "College Superintendent/President Dr. Walter Tribley immediately activated an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to help ensure safety."

They also broadcast a campus-wide emergency alert requesting that all buildings remain locked down until further notice.

Students and staff were instructed to stay inside and lock all entrances.

The college announced on Twitter at 1 p.m. that all buildings had been cleared and the lockdown was lifted.

All classes on the Monterey Campus only – with the exception of Athletics – are cancelled for the remainder of the day.
