For decades, the "Blue Cube" at the former Onizuka Air Force Base was used to secretly track Soviet spy satellites and monitor space flights. But the base was closed three years ago, and this week in the middle of the night crews began to demolish the building.
Twenty other buildings at the base, near the intersection of highways 101 and 237, have already been torn down.
