4.6-magnitude earthquake strikes near Mt. San Gorgonio
A preliminary-magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck about six miles south-southeast of Mt. San Gorgonio on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KGO) -- A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck near Palm Springs this morning and could be felt as far away as Los Angeles.

The quake struck at 4:49 a.m. There is no word yet on any injuries or damage.

A 3.2 magnitude aftershock struck minutes after the quake in the region.
