SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- There will be a delay in getting homes for the guinea pigs found at Dolores Park at 20th and Church streets in San Francisco.

The animals were expected to go up for adoption this week; however animal control officers said that's not going to happen yet.

They say the guinea pigs have skin issues due to lice, which apparently infests Dolores Park.

The animals will be treated and will be put up for adoption once they are healthy.
