Mountain View officer shot during traffic stop, suspect still at large
The search continues for a man who shot a Mountain View police officer during a traffic stop just after midnight on Saturday.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (KGO) -- The man suspected of shooting an officer during a traffic stop in Mountain View early Saturday morning has been arrested, according to police.

The driver of an SUV shot the officer and drove off during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

The injured officer is expected to survive.

The gunman crashed less than a mile away on Higdon Avenue and Villa street and then ran away.

Officers say they arrested 33-year-old Jeffrey Choy.

MVPD tweeted this photo of the suspect.

On Sunday, the department posted a thank you on social media for the community's support.

The department shared photos of a card and breakfast from the Mountain View Chinese community.
