RICHMOND, Calif. -- One man has died following a shooting this afternoon in Richmond, a police sergeant said.

Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said a man, who is one of three shooting victims, died in the hospital shortly before 6 p.m. this evening. The two other victims remained in stable condition, she said.

One person, who was brought into custody in connection with the shooting, has been arrested, she said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 15th Street and Bissell Avenue at 3:45 p.m., Abetkov said.

While officers were en route, Abetkov said they were advised there were three shooting victims, who were transported to trauma centers.

Abetkov said an initial investigation indicated the shooting was the result of an argument that started between several people.

She said detectives are still speaking with witnesses and interviewing the suspect who is in custody. More information will be released as the investigation continues, she said.
