SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Dozens of San Francisco school kids are doing what they can to help the city's homeless.
Kindergartners and first graders at Alta Vista School got together Thursday morning to make hundreds of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
The school decided on a PB&J because the kids know the comfort those sandwiches can bring.
It's all part of Alta Vista's focus on infusing community and individual responsibility into its daily curriculum.
The Salvation Army will hand deliver the sandwiches to the homeless through its street outreach program.
