SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco's Yellow Cab Cooperative has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Yellow Cab is San Francisco's largest cab company.

You can still ride in yellow cabs while deals are made to settle the firm's debts.

Services like Uber and Lyft have taken business away from taxicabs in many cities, but the company also faces mounting costs to pay off accident victims.
