Ronda Rousey made good on a promise made a few months back, attending Friday night's Marine Corps Ball with Jarrod Haschert, the lance corporal who asked her to be his date via viral video in August.

When Rousey's fight against Holly Holm was moved up to Nov. 14, her schedule freed up for the date.

Despite being upset by Holm, and after spending some time out of the public eye recovering from her injuries, Rousey flew to South Carolina on Friday morning to keep her end of the bargain.

Haschert, who told Rousey on the video that she was his celebrity crush, said last week that he hadn't heard from Rousey and wasn't sure if she would attend. Even Haschert's mother wasn't sure. But Rousey had no doubt.

"After the fight, she never hesitated for a second whether or not she was going to attend," a source close to Rousey told ESPN. "She made a promise to a Marine and was going to keep that promise. It was as simple as that. That's Ronda."

Rousey's camp wanted to keep her appearance at the dance under wraps to avoid turning it into a publicity stunt. But TMZ approached her as she was heading to the airport on her way to the ball.

"Honestly I probably would stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for another month if he didn't ask me," Rousey told TMZ.
