The trial for two San Francisco men accused of killing an Italian Police officer will begin early next year.

The lawyer for Finnegan Elder says the trial has been fast-tracked, with the first hearing scheduled for Feb. 26.

Elder and Gabriel Natale are charged with the fatal stabbing of a Rome Police officer in July.

Italian prosecutors say Elder confessed to killing the officer during a scuffle, that followed a drug deal.
