Installing solar panels could be expensive

BERKELEY, CA Professor Severin Borenstein says it costs about $90,000 dollars to install solar panels on a home, but the power they produce is worth far less -- somewhere between $20 and $50,000 over their lifetime. In a new research paper, he says governments should spend their money developing new solar technology, rather than subsidizing the panels we have now.
