2.4 quake strikes near Concord

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.4 struck at about 2:25 a.m. today in Contra Costa County.

According to the USGS, the earthquake had a depth of 11.2 miles and was centered 6 miles north of Concord and 7 miles west of Pittsburg.
