Pacifica police arrested a teenage boy who crashed his vehicle after attempting to flee from a traffic stop Friday night.

An officer tried to pull over the vehicle, a maroon Honda, at about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Gateway Drive and Hickey Boulevard, police said.

The driver of the Honda sped away before crashing into two parked vehicles and a light pole in the 200 block of Gateway Drive, according to police.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested at the scene. His female passenger was also detained but later released, police said. Neither person was injured in the accident, and no bystanders were injured during the incident.

The teenage boy was booked at Hillcrest Juvenile Facility for evading arrest, hit and run, and child endangerment, police said.
