A large truck crashed into a power pole east of San Ramon tuesday morning, shutting down an intersection in an unincorporated part of Contra Costa County, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Highland Road.

CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said one person sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. crews are responding to the accident, which brought down power lines in the area, Caggiano said.

The crash also started a small vegetation fire in the area that has since been controlled, a dispatcher with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District said.

A Sig-alert was issued around 9:30 a.m. and the intersection remained closed at about 11 a.m.
