Rib Hillis' advice for designing with color
1. I like colors that brighten up a room add some energy and life, but don't make you feel like you live in a cartoon. I like lavender, violet, and lilac.
2. Yellow is another bright color but can be overpowering, so I like it toned down a little.
3. I'm not crazy about dark heavy colors, browns and dark blues. Things are too dark and depressing out in the world today, we don't need it in our homes. Ultimately, it is a personal choice what colors to pick.

Rib Hillis may be new to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, but he is not new to the ABC family. Rib first got his start on the ABC soap opera Port Charles and has since appeared in dozens of television shows, such as Ugly Betty, CSI and CSI: Miami. In addition to these acting jobs, Hillis has done two other home improvement/building shows, Model Citizen and Get a Grip, giving him the chance to combine his ease in front of the camera with his joy in working with his hands.
