Injured Bay Area activist improving

The condition of a Bay Area activist who was injured in the West Bank is improving.

According to a friend, 37-year-old Tristan Anderson has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. He recognizes people and responds to questions with hand signals.

Anderson was struck in the head by an exploding tear gas canister during a demonstration over the wall that's being built to divide Israel from the Palestinian West Bank.
