Contra Costa County received $12 million in federal stimulus funds to open a new health clinic to severe several communities in the western part of the county.

Doctors and local leaders joined Congressman George Miller at a ceremony at Doctor's Regional Medical Center in San Pablo.

Congressman Miller points out this and other projects would have never gotten off the ground without the stimulus money from Washington.

We see the Caldecott Tunnel without the stimulus money that project would still be waiting after a decade... Here at the West County Healthy Clinic we now see the ability to start a new clinic, improve health care, improve access and to provide hundreds of jobs at this location," he said.

The new facility in San Pablo will replace a smaller and outdated clinic in Richmond.
