McDonald's considers dropping health insurance

There are mixed reports as to whether McDonald's is considering dropping health insurance for its almost 30,000 hourly workers.

The company tells the Wall Street Journal it's demanding a waiver from the new health care overhaul.

The legislation requires up to 85 percent of premiums go to actual benefits.

McDonald's tells Reuters it is committed to providing health care coverage to its workers, but it wouldn't be able to abide by the new requirement because of high overhead costs.
