SJ company unveils world's smallest atomic clock

San Jose based Symmetricom has unveiled the world's smallest atomic clock -- and it could help prevent roadside bombs in Afghanistan.The chip-sized device is being tested in portable military jammers, which send radio signals that block the detonation of IED's. The clock could also be used for unmanned aircraft, military backpack radios and handheld GPS units.
