Sonoma County and Daly City are the next Bay Area regions to consider banning plastic grocery bags.

Critics say many of the bags end up in landfills and clutter landscapes.

On Wednesday, Sonoma County Supervisor Mike McGuire will moderate a discussion on the issue at Santa Rosa city hall. On Valentine's Day, Daly City councilman David Canepa will propose an ordinance to ban bags at supermarkets and other retailers with stores larger than 10,000 feet.
