Google to use tricycles for 'Street View'

The Czech Republic's privacy watchdog says Google has not been granted permission to expand "Street View" due to privacy.

Google is using a low-tech vehicle to enhance its street view service. The mountain view-based tech giant is using tricycles to take pictures for street view.

They'll be called into service in places where their fleet of Toyota Priuses can't go, such as hiking trails or amusement parks.

A Google engineer came up with the 'trike' idea, when visiting the cobblestoned alleys of Europe. The company hopes to use 'trikes' to photograph private property, when property-owners opt-in to the program.
