Crews preparing Chinatown for Lunar New Year

January 5, 2012 1:19:17 PM PST
Crews in San Francisco are busy today getting Chinatown ready for the annual Lunar New Year celebrations.

Public works employees began a full-scale clean-up operation bright and early today. They power-washed sidewalks and facades and removed graffiti from street signs and buildings. As always, the celebrations will culminate in the traditional Lunar New Year parade, which is on February 11; 2012 is the Year of the Dragon.
