New website predicts likelihood of death

What if doctors could -- with a couple of clicks on the Internet -- predict your odds of living another year?

That is now possible thanks to physicians and researchers at UC San Francisco. They've created a website called ePrognosis. It has 16 assessment scales to determine the likelihood of death within six months to five years in older populations.

Drugs and operations are often never evaluated for the elderly. UCSF says the website could help doctors recommend tests, treatments and medications for older patients.
