No amount of alcohol safe during pregnancy

A new study is suggesting that no amount of alcohol is safe during pregnancy.

Researchers at UC San Diego looked at the drinking patterns of nearly 1,000 pregnant women. They found that the hazards of drinking are greatest at the end of the first trimester, causing physical deformities as well as behavioral and cognitive problems.

The babies showing these signs were born to both heavy and light drinkers. Researchers say women who are trying to becoming pregnant should avoid drinking entirely.
