The sister-in-law of England's future king could face criminal charges after she was caught in a picture next to a male companion pointing what appeared to be a gun at paparazzi in Paris.

Pippa Middleton, the sister of Kate Middleton, was in the passenger seat when the driver of a convertible pulled out what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol and pointed it straight at photographers.

The incident could send Pippa smack into the center of an embarrassing police investigation -- and even possible prosecution.

Although it's unknown whether the gun was real or fake, it could still result in serious legal trouble. Under French law, even using a fake weapon to intimidate someone carries a sentence of up to two years in prison.
