Authorities release sketch of man who tried to grab teen

The girl had just gotten off of a bus in the 12000 block of state Highway 9 around 11 p.m. on July 26 when a man tried to grab her from behind, sheriff's officials said.

The man was only able to grab the girl's hair, and when she screamed, he fled in a white Toyota truck, according to the sheriff's office.

After the girl told her father what happened, he went to the area where the attempted assault occurred and saw a white 1993 or 1994 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck with a missing tailgate. The father said the truck looked slightly lifted and had new tires, deputies said.

The victim described the suspect to investigators as a tall, thin white man in his 30s who stood about 6 feet tall. He had a bump on his nose, scruffy facial hair and light brown or blond hair, and was wearing jeans and a white tank top, deputies said.

The girl told the sheriff's office she had never seen the man before.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about this case or similar events to call (831) 471-1121.
