It sparked at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Lower Sherman Island where the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers come together.
Firefighters did not tackle this one. They're letting it run its course because there are no structures or people in danger and the island is too hard to access.
The fire is not far from Antioch, where viewers have called to say ash and soot are on the ground.
