Newark High Rocketry Club headed for national rocket competition

NEWARK, Calif.

While other kids practice football or basketball, the members of the Newark High Rocketry Club practice rocket science. It's a lot of math, an awful lot of trial and error, and as they're learning, a whole lot of teamwork.

They've blasted their way into the finals of the Team America Rocketry Challenge. The rocket has to fly exactly 750 feet in the air and land exactly 48-50 seconds after launch. The rocket also has some very important cargo -- a raw egg.

They have two weeks until the championship in Washington D.C.
