Bay Area LIFE: Two companies team up to get girls involved in science!
In an effort to empower young girls within science, Green Works cleaning products has teamed up with StemBox, to encourage the next generation of female scientists.

In an effort to empower young girls within science, Green Works cleaning products has teamed up with StemBox, to encourage the next generation of female scientists.

The brand, known for its all-natural approach to cleaning, became the first official sponsor of the StemBox subscription service which provides at-home science experiments for girls.

The box includes an activity showing girls how a lemon can be used as a battery to power a small light bulb and features Green Works founding scientist Maria Ochomogo.

Motivated by the knowledge that only 1 in every 1,000 girls are becoming scientists, Green Works and StemBox hope to engage girls and inspire them to explore careers in science.

They believe that great things can happen when women get involved in science.

For more information on Green works and its continued support of Girls in STEM visit GreenWorksCleaners.com. If you're interested in a StemBox subscription, go to MyStemBox.com and viewers who enter promo code "BAYAREALIFE" will receive a discount. Expires May 1, 2016.
