FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) -- A long portion of Air Base Parkway in Fairfield is closed this evening after a vehicle collision that sent a police officer to the hospital.
The office involved in the crash is in a hospital being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening, Fairfield police Sgt. Matt Thomas said.
No other injuries were reported.
The collision between the police officer's patrol car and another vehicle happened around 4 p.m. on eastbound Air Base Parkway.
Details about what caused the crash were not available.
The eastbound lanes of the roadway are shut down for a mile-long stretch from Heath Drive to Dover Avenue, according to police.
