Santa Cruz sheriff's K-9 retiring

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department is saying good-bye to one of its finest. Tomi the police dog is retiring after five years on the force due to hip dysplasia.

Tomi had a very active career. He sniffed down missing hikers and tracked down over 200 suspects. He is also credited with locating over 250 pounds of illegal drugs and helping dismantle a large drug trafficking group.

Tomi will get lots of love in his retirement. He will live with the family of the officer he worked with.
