It was the first time ABC7 aired the Oakland Pride Parade. Hundreds of people gathered, marched and showed their spirit.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- More than 80 contingents marched down Broadway in celebration of the 2023 Oakland Pride Parade. Participants represented a wide array of community leaders and service groups, businesses, sponsors, allies, children and pets!

ABC7 is proud to have partnered with Oakland Pride as the official broadcast sponsor for the Oakland Pride Parade.

When and where did it take place?

The Oakland Pride Parade and Celebration took place on Sept. 9 and 10. The parade was free to the public and started at 11 a.m. at 14th & Broadway. It ends at 21st & Broadway. Parade contingents represented a wide array of community leaders and service groups, businesses, sponsors and allies.

The parade was followed with the Celebration starting at 12 p.m. in Uptown Oakland (20th & Broadway). The festival featured three stages of live entertainment (Main Stage, Latin Stage and Community Stage) starring Deborah Cox, Diana Reyes, Kevin Aviance, Regina Voce and more.

Who performed?

Grammy nominated artist Deborah Cox is headlining. Other performers include Kevin Aviance, Ada Vox, Kidd Ken, Saturn Risin9 and Vincint.

The festival started at noon in Uptown Oakland. People were advised to enter at 20th and Broadway.
