It started around 9 p.m. on Atlas Road near Giant Highway, on the property of the Steelscape Company.
PG&E crews responded to the scene after strong winds pushed the flames dangerously close to power lines.
The fire did not burn any structures.
It charred five acres before crews contained the flames.
