NASA mission finds key building block of life

Hey have found amino acid, a fundamental building block of life, in comet samples collected by the Stardust Spacecraft.

Stardust passed through the dense gas and dust surrounding the comet in 2004. The material was stowed in a capsule, which detached from the spacecraft and parachuted to earth in 2006.

The new research was presented at the American Chemical Society meeting in Washington, D.C. over the weekend.
