The bids are due in 2012 and by 2022 it will have been 20 years since the Winter Games were held in the United States.
On Friday, Squaw Valley will open a 10-day Olympic heritage celebration - marking 50-years since the games were held at the resort. The event will launch a campaign to raise money to build an Olympic museum -- a major step toward making a bid for the 2022 games.
