Senator proposes ban on iPods at cross-walks

It is a common sight on the street: people walking along with their heads down staring at their phones and texting, but some states are worried this habit is putting people in danger.

New York State Senator Carl Kruger says two people were killed in his Brooklyn District because they were distracted by their smart phones on the street.

New York and Arkansas are proposing legislation to ban the use of iPods and cell phones at crosswalks. Violators could be fined up to $100.
