The fire on Herma Street near Mat Avenue was reported at 8:03 a.m., a dispatcher said.
Fire crews, who remained at the scene for at least two hours, had the blaze under control by 9:01 a.m., the dispatcher said.
No injuries were reported, the dispatcher said, but the seven family members will not be able to return to the damaged home.
