SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The 46th Annual San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade is taking place this weekend.

The San Francisco Pride Parade is this Sunday and that means it's crunch time for those making the colorful floats.

Workers are putting the finishing touches on 29 floats at Pier 45.

They are being built for companies like Facebook, Chase, Bloomingdalse and Uber.

Some have added messages of support following the Orlando shooting.

This year's Pride theme is economic and social justice.

Final preparations are also underway for the Pink Saturday street party that marks the start of Pride Week.

It will take place Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 12th and Harrison Streets in San Francisco's South of Market District.

In 2014, Pink Saturday was marred by violence and its organizers, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, decided the party was unmanageable. Another organization took over last year.

There were no takers this year until the Sisters had a change of heart. The party is in a new location with a $10 cover charge.

The Pride celebration at Civic Center Plaza is from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and runs along Market Street from Beale to 8th Streets.
