It all happened about 11:30 last night near the intersection of West San Fernando Street and Delmas Avenue. Police say the officer was directing traffic after a concert at HP Pavilion when he was hit. Police believe the suspect was speeding away after attempting to steal another vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle is described as a four-door dark colored Acura.
The officer is expected to survive his injuries.
