SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- ABC7 Bay Area is proud to sponsor the 52nd annual San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration, which was back in person after two years.

SF Pride Executive Director Suzanne Ford spoke with ABC7 News anchor Karina Nova about the events planned leading up to the first Pride celebration since COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were lifted.

The celebration included appearances and performances by Sherry Cola, Sister Roma, Honey Mahogany, Cheer SF, Mila Jam, HYM, and many others.
Under the theme #LoveWillKeepUsTogether, this year's event had more than 200 parade contingents and exhibitors, plus more than 20 community-run stages and venues.
The parade started at Beale Street along Market and ended at Market and 8th Street in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
Events
Trans March
The Trans March 2022 Planning Committee is happy to announce that for 2022, they will be hosting an "in-person" event on Friday, June 24.
The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with the Señora Felicia Flames Intergenerational TGNCI Brunch (Youth & Elders Brunch) at Dolores Park.
The march at 6 p.m. starts on Dolores Street and 18th Street.

Castro Family Pride Block Party
Castro Merchants is proud to present the first-annual Castro Family Pride Block Party. Join them as they turn Noe Street between Market and Beaver into a joyous Pride festival with something for everyone.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Noe Street and Market Street.
And ABC7's Reggie Aqui is one of the judges for Drag Performer of the Year!

San Francisco Dyke March
The San Francisco Dyke March is excited to march with you at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the intersection of Dolores Street and 18th Street in San Francisco. (There will not be a rally in Dolores Park prior to the march this year)

Grand Marshals
The 2022 San Francisco Pride Grand Marshals represent a mix of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community. With the help of community input, Pride selects these groups and individuals in order to honor the work they have put into furthering the causes of LGBTQ+ people.
The celebrity Grand Marshals include Freeform "Good Trouble" star Sherry Cola and "Jeopardy!" star Amy Schneider.
San Francisco Pride Community Grand Marshals are local heroes who have contributed greatly to the SF Bay Area LGBTQ+ community or to society at large.

Transportation to the Parade
The easiest way to get to the parade is via the Muni Metro Subway. If you're marching in the parade, Embarcadero Station is nearest to the formation areas. If you're going to watch, Civic Center, Powell and Montgomery stations are all along the parade route.
Muni will be providing extra metro service on the K Ingleside/T Third, L Taraval and M Ocean View to serve the large crowds; each of these lines will have two-car trains.
The 30/45 SoMa Shuttle will also operate in a loop between the Caltrain Station and Mission Street until the parade is over.

BART is asking riders using clipper to make sure they have value on the card before Sunday. They say this will help people avoid any potential issues with the mobile app, and cut down on lines at stations downtown.
Street Closures
As of Thursday morning, Fulton between Larkin and Hyde streets will be closed as well as Grove street between Polk and Larkin. More streets are expected to close on Friday and Saturday.

Sunday's San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration are free and open to all ages.
Safety
SF Pride intends to follow current COVID-19 guidelines.
Weekend Weather Forecast
A weather pattern more typical for this time of year settles across San Francisco as Pride activities reach their peak this weekend.
It starts with our friends, the marine layer clouds and sea breeze. They keep us from over-heating like we did earlier this week.
Each morning finds us blanketed by a gray sky and the need to find a jacket before heading outside. We wake up to temperatures in the lower to middle 50s.
The cloud deck retreats and settles along the coast late morning through late afternoon. As we transition to evening the clouds begin their march east. If you're anywhere near the Golden Gate Bridge or Marina, expect clouds most of the day.
High temperatures warm to near 70 by early afternoon. Then the sea breeze ramps us and cools us into the 60s by late afternoon and 50s during the evening.
