The quake happened around 8:45 a.m. northeast of San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A preliminary magnitude 2.8 earthquake struck northeast of San Jose Thursday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The minor quake happened at 8:45 a.m.
On October 25, a 5.1 quake hit San Jose, the Bay Area's largest in eight years.
